The company’s medical imaging services can also be deployed on site or in a hybrid model

Enterprise imaging solutions company Mach7 Technologies has forged a partnership with Microsoft Azure to bring its full suite of enterprise medical imaging solutions to the cloud.

This news follows the recent announcement that Microsoft will reduce Azure virtual machine (VM) prices by up to 50 percent, as the vendor chases a bigger chunk of cloud market share.

Mach7 Technologies CEO Albert Liong said the new managed service offering will provide hospitals and healthcare systems the flexibility to deploy a tailored solution that meets their clinical, business, technical, and patient care needs, with the security to safeguard hospital and patient data.

The entire suite of Mach7 enterprise imaging solutions can now be deployed on premise, in the cloud, or via a hybrid model.

“Offering a cloud solution is a strategic undertaking for us, especially with Microsoft as a partner. Mach7 brings yet another capability to the industry in that we can now offer enterprise imaging solutions in cloud, onsite or a hybrid model.

“We expect this innovation will be highly valued by hospitals and radiology groups as they address today’s changing data storage and access needs,” he said.

In addition to software implementation and data migration fees, Mach7 will earn a monthly subscription- based fee levied on each study managed by the Mach7 Enterprise Imaging Platform for at least the next five years.

The company also said the subscription revenue expected is a minimum of $115,000 per year.

“The subscription- based revenue model ensures a guaranteed revenue annuity over a period of time and therefore provides another recurring cash flow for Mach7.”

The company has also confirmed that Indiana University Health’s Goshen Hospital will be the first customer deploying the Mach7 Enterprise Imaging Platform using the Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.

Mach7 Enterprise Imaging Platform will provide Goshen Hospital with cloud-based image storage and archiving, electronic medical record image-enablement with Mach7 Clinical Viewer, and the ability for authorised clinicians to search, access, view and share medical imaging procedures via Mach7 Image Sharing.
